This was my last Beach Session of the year. It was a perfect September day here in New England where it was still warm enough to walk barefoot on the beach but cool enough to wear sweaters and jeans. Perfect Indeed! This Amazing Beautiful Mom confessed that she was feeling sentimental. It was that time of year where Summer was over and Fall was beginning. Her son was back in school and she was realizing how quickly he was growing and time was passing. The change of seasons often represent changes in our lives that are not always easy to accept. But they can become easier if we focus on how blessed we are in the present and what great things we can expect in the future to come.
It wouldn’t have been enough for me to simply capture the perfectly posed smiling portrait for this family. I really wanted to leave Mom with the memory of how fantastic, fun, loving, and in her words “sentimental” these times were for the three of them and what a small preview this day was of how many more memories she has to look forward to. To do that we had a blast capturing snuggles, smiles, kisses, silly faces, piggy backs, playing in the leaves, and a sunset walk on the beach. This mom sure knows how blessed she is with these two great guys in her life. She is the center of their world.

70 High Schoolers in 48 Hours. I had so much fun photographing the students at Three Rivers Middle College. These kids are so great and I loved the way their portraits came out. Changing the face of school portraits, we used the natural surrounds and architecture of the school grounds for their portrait backgrounds instead of tacky old backdrops in a school cafeteria with forced smiles and cheesy poses. The kids were so surprised and happy with their sessions and their portraits. I can’t wait for next year.
I have room for one more school in 2021 so if your looking to change your school photographer feel free to contact me.

Check out this SUPER BABY themed Session in the park. I love it so much when parents bring their own artistic visions to the shoot. This Mom knew when she called me a month before baby was due that she wanted a Superman Theme for her portraits and I think we did a great job pulling it off together. Of course we had to add a formal vintage segment into the session since we were at such a gorgeous park on a beautiful day. Big and Little Sisters added their own fun loving flare to the day as well.

Photography is a real living time machine, your own personal journey into the past. A photograph is evidence that time existed, life was lived, places were traveled, people were met, laughs were had, and adventures were experienced. A photo album is your own story, science fiction novel, or comic book.
I had so much fun being creative while transforming this sleepy super shot below into a comic strip. I had this idea when I wrote the above poem two years ago. This past Summer I was able to bring it to life and this little guy now has his own comic book page.
Whats your story? What book would you like create your own page out of? What movie would you like to star in? What places have you traveled? Who have you met? What have you laughed about? These are all things we incorporate into our daily lives when we choose what to wear, what to eat, where to go, how to decorate. Why not design your next photo session using your own dreams?

We have been having so much fun as our Harkness Park Sessions wrap up! How adorable are these two siblings. I love photographing children having fun. It makes for a much more pleasant photo session if babies and children just think were there to play. Then you can bring out their smiles and expressions naturally while still capturing precious moments and creating stunning artistic portraits. Next time you take your children for portraits think about what games they like to play, what songs they like to sing and dance to, and what toys they may want to bring that match with the theme of your session. In the meantime check out these cuties having fun below.
We are all done photographing at Harkness Park this year. Head over to the NewsRoom to find out were we will be next.
